TurboScan Interface Card - Revision B AST Part Number 199000-159
for Models 300C & Flatbed Scanners

The TurboScan interface card is the route through which data is passed back
and forth between the TurboScan and the PC. An I/O address must be selected
for the data path. Check your manuals for other cards in your system if you
dont know whether or not the TurboScan default address of 100 hex is already
used. If that address is already used, you will need to change the default
switch settings of switches 3 through 8 on the switch bank on the Parallel
interface card to set a different I/O address for the TurboScan.

The TurboScan interface also provides DMA (Direct Memory Access) using channel
1. If another device also uses DMA channel 1, the TurboScan is designed to
prevent conflicts with any other device that has the ability to share the DMA
channel. If another device cannot share the channel, you must disable the DMA
feature on the scanner interface by changing switches 1 and 2 on SW1 (switch
blck 1). This file describes the default configuration of the TurboScan
Interface Card and how to change that configuration if necessary. The
Controller card for the C & F series scanners should be marked as REV-B.
