FOUR-PORT FOR XENIX (CC832)                         AST Part Number 202013-xxx

Four-Port/XENIX provides the software, hardware and information necessary to
access up to ten RS-232C ports using two CC832 cards on IBM PC, XT, AT, or
100% compatibles.

This board can be used only as COM1 or COM2 port with the XENIX operating
system.


SWITCH SETTINGS

    The instructions below aply to CC832 board with three switch blocks SW1,
    SW2 and SW3.  Blocks SW1 and SW2 have three toggle switches on each and
    the block SW3 has four toggle switches on it.

        SW1 and SW2 allow to select an IRQ for this board.  Enable ONE ONLY.
        =======================
        SW1-1 ON enables IRQ-2
        SW1-2 ON enables IRQ-3
        SW1-3 ON enables IRQ-4
        SW2-1 ON enables IRQ-5
        SW2-2 ON enables IRQ-6
        SW2-3 ON enables IRQ-7

        SW3-1 ON  Sets the board in Compatible mode.
        SW3-1 OFF Sets the board in Enhanced mode.

        SW3-2 ON  Sets the high order I/O address range.
        SW3-2 OFF Sets the low order I/O address range.

        SW3-3 ON always.

        SW3-4 OFF always.


EXAMPLES

To set the board as COM1:

    1) Disable the com1 port from the mother board.

    2) Set IRQ-4 with SW1-3 ON

    3) Set Enhanced mode with SW3-1 OFF.

    4) Set High Order I/O address with SW3-2 ON.

To set the board as COM2:

    1) Disable the com2 port from the mother board.

    2) Set IRQ-3 with SW1-2 ON.

    3) Set Enhanced mode with SW3-1 OFF.

    4) Set Low Order I/O address with SW3-2 OFF.
