When it comes to a complete selection of high performance 3270 emulation
solutions, the AST-3270/II Family stands alone. This intelligently planned
combination of hardware and software products delivers all the features you
need to connect your microcomputers to an IBM System/370 and still retain
normal PC operation.

At the heart of the AST-3270/II Coax Family you'll find a CoaxII adapter. It
features both a standard Coax BNC connector and a uniquely integrated RJ11
connector. Which means you can run twisted pair wiring between cluster
controller and PC without the need for costly baluns on the PC side. Only AST
offers this kind of economical approach to 3270 connectivity.

Hardware support continues with plug compatibility for IBM and IRMA giving you
access to IRMA CUT mode software (E78PLUS) or IBM CUT/DFT mode software (3270
Emulation Entry Level, Workstation Program). And functionality with future IBM
micro to mainframe architectures is ensured without sacrificing your past
investment in IRMA software. A device driver is included that will even run
IBM's OS/2 Extended Edition.

AST-3270/CoaxII-CUT andAST-3270/CoaxIIA-CUT

Providing single session CUT (Control Unit Terminal) mode 3270 emulation,
AST's basic 3270 product continues to set new standards of excellence. Key
features include support for basic and extended attributes, menu-driven IBM
send/receive file transfer software at no extra charge, 58Kb of memory usage,
and an extensive keyboard mapping facility. We've also added a few new
innovations such as protected mode OS/2(TM) driver (supporting IBM OS/2
Extended Edition DFT 3270 emulation) and an IBM compatible Entry Emulation
High Level Language Application Program Interface (EEHLLAPI). EEHLLAPI
provides high performance support for PROFS Application Support Feature
(PASF), the popular IBM PC to S/370 distributed electronic mail system.

AST-3270/DFT Option

These software upgrades to 3270/CoaxII-CUT and 3270/CoaxIIA-CUT support
multiple printer/display sessions using DFT-3270 datastreams. They also
maximize ease of use with features like session management with the AST
Windows Manager(TM), auto sign-on, keyboard macros, configurator/emulator
security, 122-key keyboard support, and free menu driven send/receive file
transfer software.

Remote 3270AST-3270/SNA II(TM) and AST-3270/SNA IIA(TM)

Connect your PCs or PS/2(R)s to IBM S/3270 mainframes in remote SNA/SDLC
environments with these hardware/software packages. They provide the same
quality features you get in our local solutions including up to 5 multiple
display/printer sessions, AST Windows Manager for session management, auto
sign-on, keyboard macros, configurator/emulator security, 122-key keyboard
support, and free menu driven send/receive file transfer.

AST-3270/Gateway Option

To really get the most out of your PCs, combine the sophistication of an AST
or NetBIOS-compatible Local Area Network with mainframe connectivity. All you
need is AST-3270/Gateway, providing 3270 emulation and file transfer with up
to 16 sessions per Gateway Master and up to 72 Gateway Masters per LAN. It has
the same Gateway Master Polling feature you'll find on AST's popular 5250
Gateway product. Plus you get multiple display/printer sessions for each
gateway slave, sessions sign-on, keyboard macros, and ST Windows Manager
support.

Common Family Features:AST-3270/II and AST-5250 Products

Everybody's familiar with IBM's central mainframe and mid-range architectures:
S/370 and S/3X-AS/400. But the real news is that AST is the only company to
offer a single common emulator for both 3270 and 5250 products. So if you need
access to IBM mainframes and mini's, look to AST for solutions which deliver
unified functions and user interfaces across both architectures.
